- System Restore
- Recovery and backup
- Restore using recovery disc
System Restore is one of the easiest ways to restore your Qosmio X500 laptop. Windows 7 provides you with a 'System Restore' facility which enables you to restore your laptop to a previous restore point. You can create a restore point yourself though they are created automatically when changes are made to the laptop. While doing 'System Restore' you need to make sure that the restore point you have chosen solves the current problem that forced you to do a System Restore.
Recovery and backup
Windows 7 has a feature called ‘Backup and Restore’ This feature enables you to create a repair disk directly from the system. To create a repair disk of your own you need to go to the ‘Control Panel’ and click ‘System and Security’ and then click ‘Backup and Restore’. In the left side of the screen you could see ‘Create a system recovery disk’. You need to click that option and then you need to insert a blank DVD into the drive and click ‘Create Disk’. After doing this, the system restore disc is ready. To restore your computer, boot from the disc and follow the on-screen prompts and once the process is completed your system would be restored to the old restore point of your choice.
Your Toshiba laptop comes with a factory created recovery disc. This disc helps you to restore your system to the state the system was in when you bought it. To restore your system using the Recovery disc, boot from the disc and follow the onscreen instructions. Once restored your system would be in its factory settings. You need to install all the third party software and most importantly licensed Antivirus software.
