Overheating of laptops can be caused by issues with the fan but a lot of software running on the system can also aggravate the problem.
1. Make sure the vents are not obstructed by anything.
2. Purchase a cooling pad. Until then, place a book (or any elevated platform) each on both sides of the laptop underneath it so that there is proper ventilation. Avoid keeping it on a pillow or a blanket etc. while in use.
3. If the fan is noisy, get it serviced at a local tech shop or a Toshiba service center.
4. Update the drivers for all hardware components to the latest version.
5. Minimize the number of applications running on the laptop simultaneously.
6. If the problem persists, report it to Toshiba and get their technicians to examine it.
