Review on Toshiba® Portégé R100 laptop
Toshiba Portégé R100 laptop series has a Intel Centrino processor. It contains two USB 2.0 ports, a 56k V.90 modem, 802.11b Wi-Fi, 10/100 mega bit wired Ethernet, a single type II PC card slot, a slot for SD/MMC memory cards and a D-SUB that can be used with an external projector or monitor. This series of laptops are provided with 256 mega bytes of memory. It offers a warranty of three years.
The native resolution offered by this series of laptop is more than required for an ultra-portable machine. Even for extended period of time, typing on the keyboard is very comfortable. This series of laptops offer long hours of battery life even though it is not the fastest machine around. It is also provided with a screen that is adequately bright which offers fast response time, good color saturation and good contrast. It comes with recovery CDs and an extended battery.
Toshiba Portégé R100 laptop is equipped with a hard disk of 40 GB and a RAM of 256 MB. The operating system used in this series of laptops is Windows XP Professional. Toshiba Portégé R100 laptop series uses a Trident CyberBlade XP4-32 video subsystem with 32 megabytes of dedicated memory for its frame buffer. It is provided with a keyboard that does not flex at all due to its metal construction and inherent rigidity. A standard battery and an extra capacity battery are used to ship the Toshiba Portégé R100 laptop series. The standard unit has only a life of two hours. A life of 6.5 hours can be reached by using the extra capacity battery. Toshiba Portégé R100 laptop has a weight of 2.4 pounds which pops up when the extra capacity battery is attached. Even though the extended battery adds up the mass and height of the device when it is closed, it is still small and this extra capacity battery attached offers the best durability.

Toshiba Portégé R100 series are provided with a native resolution of 1024 x 768. It has a 3D capable Trident XP4m32 LP chipset with a memory of 32 MB. Even at higher resolutions, this graphics chipset is capable to drive an external monitor or projector without any problem and also provides enough power for everyday applications. The graphics used are not much advanced and so it cannot be used as a gaming notebook.

It is an ultraportable notebook and uses Intel Centrino platform technology. This series has external power devices and works at a voltage of 120/230 V AC. This series also has additional features which include a keyboard lock, a hard drive password and a security lock slot.
