Three Companion Apps from Toshiba®

It is reported that Toshiba is going to launch three apps for smartphones and tablets to facilitate an enhanced SMART TV experience to the users. The apps, expected to be released in the next couple of months, would support the Android and iOS devices.

In the 2012 International CES, Toshiba displayed the new Excite tablet along with other products. While it is continuously pioneering to come up with innovative SMART TVs and tablets, the apps would certainly ease the synchronization of media contents between both types of electronic devices. The first app is named as TRAC (Tablet Remote App Capable) and users can use their tablets as a remote control after installing this app. The remote control function supported by the app would be compatible for TVs, Blu-ray players, and the set-top boxes (STBs).

The second app, MediaGuide, would let the users see the Toshiba TV program guide on their tablets or smartphones in place of the TV screen itself. This ensures undisruptive viewing of a program, while seeking information at the same time about other TV shows.

The third app is MediaShare. It allows the users to stream or share multimedia content on a SMART TV, directly from their DLNA or Wi-Fi compatible devices such as notebooks or tablets. Being termed as ‘companion apps’, these three applications would be very handy in syncing the favorite contents between the two different platforms. In addition, Smartphones and SMART TVs would have an engaging interplay to offer, and the users would be able to enjoy the viewing on a much bigger screen without any hassles.
