Toshiba® NB300 Windows® Vista Specific Drivers
What are the different drivers for Windows Vista® on Toshiba mini NB300 netbooks?
The Toshiba mini NB300 netbook is equipped with all the advanced components to benefit travelers. It has the accelerometer installed to detect movements and prevent the loss of data due to excessive movement. With a 6-cell battery, it has been programmed to give performance for over 5 hours without fail.
Here, we discuss about the issues with the drivers for Windows Vista® on a Toshiba mini NB300 netbook :
- The graphics card driver does not function
- The external DVD drive driver does not install
- The wireless driver does not work
- The webcam driver is not recognized
The graphics card driver does not function
The graphics card driver for Windows Vista®-loaded Toshiba mini NB300 may not function on the netbook. When playing any games or videos, the user may get error messages, like no graphics card or video card driver found. As Toshiba mini NB300 comes with Windows® XP and Windows® XP-specific drivers by default, the installation of Windows Vista® requires drivers that are specific for Windows Vista®. One can check on Intel®’s site for the updated graphics card driver. The user’s guide of Toshiba mini NB300 has all the configurations and details mentioned so that the user can refer to it in case of need.
The external DVD drive driver does not install
Another issue has to do with the DVD drive driver. When loading an external DVD drive driver on Toshiba mini NB300, the installation may get complete; however, when it comes to playing DVDs, the DVDs don’t work and instead the user may get errors, like “one or more drivers are missing and required”. To work it out, uninstall the driver from ‘Device Manager’ and reinstall it. If that does not help, check on the manufacture’s site for any updated driver. Once the updated driver gets loaded, the DVD drive will be able to play DVDs.
The wireless driver for the Windows Vista® platform on Toshiba mini NB300 may not be able to perform and let the system connect to the Internet wirelessly. To resolve the issue, the first step is to check for the driver - whether it is installed in ‘Device Manager’ or not. If the driver is not reflected in ‘Device Manager’, install the driver. If it is installed and reflects in the ‘Device Manager’ window, uninstall and reinstall the driver. The wireless system should start working; however, ensure that wireless LAN is enabled on your system.
Windows Vista® may be unable to recognize the webcam driver on Toshiba mini NB300. The webcam driver usually comes with Windows Vista®, however, if it is not recognized by the OS, check ‘Device Manager’ and ‘Windows Registry’. To resolve the problem, reinstall the driver from the Windows Vista® CD. If the driver still does not work, look for the update on Toshiba’s site and download it.
