Windows® Defender is designed to run in the computer’s background, virtually unnoticed. It offers real-time protection against the security threats. The user receives recommendations and notification about the encountered problems. To install Windows® Defender, the computer must have at least Intel® Pentium® 233 MHz processor. Toshiba mini NB300 needs Windows® XP Service Pack 2 or later versions of the operating system. The RAM should be at least 128MB, and the hard disc should have at least 20MB free space. The system should have Microsoft® Internet Explorer® and at least Windows® Installer 3.1.
How to install Windows® Defender?
Windows® Defender can be downloaded from the official website of Microsoft®. You must have a validated copy of Windows® to be able to start the download process. When the file download window appears click on ‘Run’ or ‘Save’ to download the file. Then click on ‘Run.’
The program will be downloaded in the Temporary Files folder if you did not select ‘Save.’ When the Install Wizard appears, click on ‘Next.’ Select ‘Next’ to validate your Windows® copy again. Accept the terms listed in the program License Agreement and click on ‘Next’ again. Now the program will be installed. After the download is complete, click on ‘Finish’ to end the installation process.
If a pop-up locker is installed on the computer, it is necessary to disable this function. Windows® Defender automatically downloads the new updates if the ‘Automatic updates’ option is chosen. Whenever you want to check or to change a setting, you can click on the program icon in the taskbar.
