Toshiba® mini NB300 HDMI® Output
Issues that can come with Toshiba mini NB300 HDMI output
The Toshiba mini NB300 laptop is a tiny 10 inch ultra-portable notebook with slim frame which uses Atom N450 CPU with speed of 1.66 GHZ, 1GB of DDR2 SDRAM, integrated Intel® GMA 3150 graphics card and a 250 GB hard drive. The laptop is highly compatible with Windows® 7. You can connect the laptop to TV through an HDMI® device to transmit the audio and video signals from laptop to TV and watch movies in a big screen. The HDMI® carries video signals up to 1080p at the speed of 24 Hz. The HDMI® output can face some issues while they are connected to a TV. It might produce high-quality graphics in TV, but sound signals might come through laptop only. Sometimes, the HDMI® might not be compatible with TV and will not give any result. The HDMI® might not carry the signals to a long distance. If it is carried to a long distance, the signals might make some fluctuations on your TV screen.
You can solve these issues if you follow some tips. The tips are:
- Change default sound settings
- Use some stereo devices
- Set the resolution of laptop
Change default sound settings
When you attempt to watch movie in TV with HDMI® support, you might observe that the picture is coming through TV, but the sound is coming through laptop. To resolve this problem, you have to set the sound settings of your laptop. By default, the sound settings in Toshiba mini NB300 laptop are ‘speaker’. You have to change this to ‘HDMI’. For this, you have to open the control panel and set the default sound as ‘HDMI’.
Use some stereo devices
Some HDMI® devices might not be designed for supporting sound signals. Even if some HDMI® devices produce sound, they are not the best at it. Then you might have to upgrade the HDMI®. You can use some stereo devices to support the sound. You can do this by extending a splitter cable from the headjack to the stereo with the red/white cables.
The HDMI® device that you use might not be compatible with the TV you are using. Resolution of TV might conflict with that of your laptop. You have to change the resolution of the laptop to lower than that of TV. You can also change the color scheme of the laptop to lower levels. If signals do not reach the TV, try pressing F9 and F8 keys in your laptop keyboard continuously.
