Issues with Touchpad in Toshiba Satellite® L450
Toshiba Satellite® L450 is a user-friendly, daily use laptop from Toshiba. It comes loaded with Intel® Celeron® Processor T3000. It has 15.6 inch screen size. This widescreen gives the laptop a cinematic screen appearance. The bright lighting ensures legible reading in bright light environments. The new notebooks feature Intel’s Core2 Duo processors, GMA 4500MHD integrated graphics, and up to 4GB of DDR2 memory. It has 320GB of hard drive space. It has DVD burners, web cameras, and 802.11/a/g/n wireless LAN. It comes with Windows® 7 Professional operating system. It has an integrated Wi-Fi. Due to HD expandability, it can be connected to a larger display. Whether you want to create impressive presentations on a projector or watch videos on a HDTV. Touchpad is an easy to use, compact input device. It can be operated by a finger. The finger is moved over the touchpad and the cursor will move according to that. The advantage of touchpad is that it can be easily inbuilt with the system; there is no need of an external mouse.
Following are the common issues with touchpad in L450 and tips to solve them:
- Too sensitive
- Touchpad enabled but not working
One of the common features of the touchpad is that it may be oversensitive. This will badly affect in controlling the pointer correctly. In order to correct it you need to change the settings of sensitivity. Adjust sensitivity by going to the mouse settings in the ‘Control Panel’. Select ‘Advanced Feature Settings’ and follow ‘Touchpad’ option to adjust it.
While you work on the laptop, suddenly the touchpad might not respond. Try again to see if it is temporary. If this does not fix then the touchpad has to be stopped and started again. This can be done by a simple shortcut. Hold down ‘Fn + F9’ keys. The touchpad will start again. If this is done once again, it will be disabled. If this does not fix the issue, then reinstall drivers.
If the touchpad has been enabled and is not working, then you might need to reinstall drivers. Reinstall the installed drivers from the computer. After un-installation, the computer might ask for a reboot. Then reboot the computer. After reboot, you need to install drivers by downloading from Toshiba’s website. Please make sure you have at least a spare mouse, so that you can use it for browsing Toshiba site for downloading. After installing drivers reboot the computer.
