Toshiba Satellite P laptops are awaited for release pretty soon. However, the exact date is yet to be announced.

The Digital Products Division (DPD) of Toshiba has announced an update to its Canvio external USB storage line-up with the addition of a 1.5TB Canvio 3.0 hard drive.

This model comes pre-formatted using the NTFS Windows file system. Toshiba has also included an NTFS driver so that the users of Mac can read and write to it. The Mac users can always reformat the drive to the Mac file system and use it with Time Machine, but they would not be able to share files with a PC anymore.

The Toshiba Canvio 3.0 has a version that costs US $10 more, which includes software to perform backups. The user has the options of building file backups, full disk backups, or both. If using full-disk backups, it will be possible to boot directly from the USB drive into the disk-restoration utility.

The Canvio line has many storage capacity options – 500GB/700GB/1TB/1.5TB, and the price for this new 1.5TB is US $199.99 (with software) or US $189.99 (without software).

The Toshiba Qosmio X870 is equipped with superior performance and audio quality for the gaming enthusiasts. It is powered by the third generation Intel Quad-Core processor, the latest NVIDIA GTX670M graphics (with 3 GB GDDR5 VRAM) and 32 GB RAM to handle most intensive applications and games. It has a 3D-enabled 17.3-inch full high definition display, and supports the latest NVIDIA 3D Vision active shutter glasses and NVIDIA LightBoost technology for immersive 3D viewing experience. Toshiba has announced that its Satellite laptops will come equipped with Intel AMD chips and Intel processor. The prices for the Satellite L-series and C-series, which will hit the market in May, will start at $399. Toshiba Satellite laptops are expected to be thinner and lighter as compared to previous models.

Toshiba Satellite series laptops will utilize AMD’s chip, which is code-named as Trinity, and Intel Core processor code-named Ivy Bridge. The new improved processor and chip promises to boost your laptop’s performance. Toshiba claims that the new AMD chip will increase the graphic quality by 50 percent and CPU performance by 25 percent.

Toshiba Satellite series laptops will come with screen size ranging from 14 to 17.3 inches. They will also come with webcams, HDMI, and USB ports. Additionally, users will get Blu-ray Disk drives in some of the L-series laptops and can even charge USB devices without the power on.

Toshiba has announced that it will soon come up with three new tablets under the ‘Excite’ range that will run on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The three Toshiba Excite tablets will be launched in 7.7-inch, 10-inch, and 13-inch screen sizes in the United States in May and June 2012.

The new Toshiba tablets will run on NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor and 1GB RAM. In addition, the three tablets will feature 5 megapixel rear and 2 mega pixel front cameras. The high resolution tablets may also include Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. The 13-inch Toshiba Excite tablet will include the AMOLED screen with 1600 x 900 resolution.

Toshiba Excite 10, which is supposed to hit the stores in May, will be launched in three options namely 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB for U.S. $450, U.S. $530, and U.S. $650, respectively. Toshiba Imaging in collaboration with ISee3D Inc. is making plans to build a high definition 3D microscopic system. The 3D microscope will be having Toshiba IK-HD1 along with 3-chip high definition camera to provide excellent quality of images.

The leading name in providing 3D imaging systems, ISee3D is based in Canada. It will be providing its latest single-lens technology for perfectly-aligned images, which can be displayed on a HD monitor.

Chief Technical Officer of ISee3D, Tom Mitchell said, “After evaluating various 3-chip HD cameras, we have selected Toshiba’s IK-HD1 high-definition 3CCD camera for our new 3D microscope imaging system.” Mitchell also said that the small form factor camera of 3D microscope will be perfect for providing images for scientific purposes with excellent color, superior contrast and resolution, and acquisition speed.

Paul Dempster, director of sales at Toshiba Imaging, expressed his excitement for the deal which will result in excellent 3D visualization of images.

Toshiba has put forward another step towards its initiative for environment protection. The brand is coming with erasable printing technology, which will enable paper recycling by inducing automatic erasing of printed content from the paper.

The new Toshiba printer uses the same technology that has been developed for FriXion Ball pens from Pilot. In this printer from Toshiba, it is known as Toshiba toner. The ink or toner works like a normal ink while printing but when treated with heat, it becomes transparent. The device to heat will be located in the printer itself. This will make the already printed paper reusable after treating the paper to high temperature heat and consequently erasing the earlier printer content. The paper can be used up to five times which in turn can be a major contribution in reducing paper cost. Also, there is an option to scan and save documents which may be needed later.

The current demonstrated model of printer will only be printing a few shades of blue color. But, you can easily notice some remnants or shadows of last prints even after erasing the content of the last printed document. Toshiba claims to be working on these issues. Till now, nothing has been said about the price, but there are all the hopes for a step towards an environment friendly technology.

Toshiba recently announced the launch of memory cards that claim to be one of the world’s fastest memory cards with a transfer rate up to 95MB/sec. These SDXC and SDHC series of memory cards will be known as Toshiba EXCERIA.
