External Monitor in Toshiba® Tecra A11
Monitor is a display device or an output device of computer. It is also known as screen in general terms. It is usually made up of thin film transistors in current times. While all computers and laptops come along with their inbuilt screen, it is also possible to connect an external screen to your system for displaying the outputs. Toshiba Tecra A11 system also provides means to attach an external monitor to it and here we will discuss about the following topics related to external monitor:
- An external monitor or projector via the RGB (monitor) port
- An external monitor via the Mini DisplayPort
- Useful tips
An external monitor or projector via the RGB (monitor) port
Projector is connected to get a bigger display output. For this you first need to know if some software has to be installed on your system (get this information from the projector user guide). Then connect its video cable to the RGB port at the back of the system. Connect the power plug of the projector to an AC output and turn it on. The display will directly go through the projector.
An external monitor via the Mini DisplayPort
The above mentioned process can be performed in the same manner using the Mini DisplayPort provided in Toshiba Tecra A11 model. This port might not be provided in all series of this model, so check if your system has it before plug and play process.
You can choose to have the display either on the internal screen, external screen or on both at the same time by hitting the key combination of “Fn+F5” at the same time and allowing the desired change to come into effect. To get the best picture, you can adjust the video settings on your external display. Not all external monitors will need software to be installed prior to using them, however, it is best to read the respective user manual before trying to plug it to your Toshiba system.
